Job Functions:

  • Propose sources and pricing ideas for products.
  • Research and perform cost reduction and improvement projects.
  • Track and record equipment downtime in system.  Produce monthly reports to show maintenance downtime issues and performance.
  • Write equipment inspection standards to indicate key preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Write work instructions and key points for manufacturing processes.
  • Update preventative maintenance schedule and procedures as needed.
  • Review and approve purchases of maintenance repair parts, materials, and office supplies for the department.  Review requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy and conformance with established policies, procedures and files.
  • Expedite purchase orders and coordinate incoming shipments and returns to suppliers.
  • Engage in negotiations of pricing, delivery, service, and/or supplier quality following established purchasing department procedures.
  • Plan, oversee and perform manual inventory counts.
  • Ensure that all purchases and labor are charged to equipment and departments correctly in the maintenance management software.
  • Meet and interview supplier representatives.  Act as department representative for maintenance supplies.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and prioritize activities.
  • Strong organization, time management, and planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Requires good communication skills and the ability to negotiate prices. 
  • Ability to maintain specific records, logs and files and compile data to generate reports as required for assigned projects.
  • Requires skill in the use of related maintenance and purchasing software programs. 
  • Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Entry to 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
